Jacko is just beginning to find his feet as the SAS 'New Boy', when once again, his Troop are crashed out of Baghdad's Green Zone. This time, they are on a fast ball: a British hostage has just been located by the Americans. Unfortunately, the hostage is being held captive in Sadr City, a known Iraqi stronghold and just about the most dangerous location in the whole of Iraq. Jacko and the rest of the assault team must get there before it is too late. The insurgents are planning to cut off the hostage's head during a live online broadcast and this is one operation that cannot fail. The hostage wasn't a reporter, or aid worker, he was otherwise known as HRH. The second story in the Spoken From the Front series is another explosive adventure, packed with authentic detail from McNab's SAS expertise. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Stephen Moyer. The first Doctor becomes the second in this exclusive recording of Doctor Who's orginal regeneration story, starring Patrick Troughton with linking narration by Anneke Wills. Before the astonished eyes of his companions Ben and Polly, the Doctor's whole body has apparently been transformed. Now they are confronted by a stranger who claims to be their old friend...but how can they know whether to trust him? The TARDIS's arrival on the swamp planet of Vulcan brings its own problems; the Doctor is mistaken for an official come to solve the Earth colony's in-fighting, and soon he and his companions are embroiled in political wranglings. However, a far more serious threat lurks within the colony. The scientist Lesterson has discovered a crashed space capsule, within it a group of inert metallic creatures which the Doctor identifies as Daleks. By the time the Doctor and his friends discover the Daleks' true plan for the colony, it looks as if it might already be too late to stop them. Anneke Wills, who plays Polly in the story, narrates this debut story for the second Doctor, Patrick Troughton, first broadcast in 1966 and long since missing from the television archives. 1. A Chicago Review of Books Most Anticipated Fiction Book of 2018 "Fast-paced, energetic, searing. There are moments in Steve Kistulentz's Panorama that will take your breath away." - Daniel Alarcón, author of Lost City Radio Richard MacMurray, a cable news talking head, is paid handsomely to pontificate on the issues of the moment. On New Year's Day he is scheduled to be a guest on a prominent morning talk show. As he awaits the broadcast, the network interrupts with news that a jet airliner has crashed in Dallas and that everyone aboard has perished. Within an hour, amateur videotape surfaces of the plane's last moments, transforming the crash into a living image: familiar, constant, and horrifying. Richard learns that his sister, Mary Beth, was aboard the doomed flight, leaving behind her six-year-old son, Gabriel. Richard is the boy's only living relative. When he is given an opportunity to bring Gabriel home, it may be that the loss of his sister will provide him with the second chapter he never knew he wanted. In this powerful debut, Steve Kistulentz captures the sprawl of contemporary America - its culture, its values, the workaday existence of its people - with kaleidoscopic sweep and controlled intensity. Yet within the expansive scope of Panorama lies an intimate portrait of human loss rendered with precision, humanity, and humor. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Kiff VandenHeuvel. Jake Sasseville may be the most famous guy you've never heard of. Slightly Famous charts Jake's improbable rise to (slight) fame. At 21, he broke into Hollywood as the youngest host ever on late-night broadcast TV when his show The Edge launched after Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC affiliates. Months later, it crashed, burned, and Jake lost it all. Experience success from the inside of failure, as Jake shares his ridiculous tactics to win million-dollar deals, find out why Chelsea Handler hates his guts, why he wears pajamas to business meetings and how he turned his business (and his life) around after becoming a "has been" at age 22. In this deliciously absurd collection that is as hilarious as it is raw, Jake brings you inside the life of a Hollywood outsider. When he launches high-profile PR stunts, he enlists his famous friends like Rainn Wilson (The Office) to help. When his business nearly goes bankrupt, a chance meeting with a billionaire in London leads to $100,000 and a flight to a private island compound. Whether he's negotiating with AirTran Airways to give him an unlimited supply of first-class airline tickets or convincing the CEO of a hotel empire in San Francisco to give him a penthouse suite for a year, Jake's colorful life makes way for pearls of wisdom on life, business, and spirituality. 1. NASCAR on Television and Radio

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! CBS Sports President Neal Pilson and motorsports editor Ken Squier believed that America would watch an entire stock car race live on television. On February 15, 1979, CBS presented the first flag-to-flag coverage of the Daytona 500. Richard Petty won NASCAR's crown-jewel race for the sixth time, but the big story was the post-race fight on the track's infield between Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison, who crashed together on the final lap while leading. The race drew incredible ratings, in part due to the compelling action both on and off the track, and in part because a major snowstorm on the East Coast kept millions of viewers indoors. As time passed, more Winston Cup races ended up on TV. ESPN broadcast its first race in 1981, from North Carolina Motor Speedway (its first live race was later in the year at Atlanta International Raceway), and TNN followed in 1991. All Cup races were nationally televised by 1985, networks struck individual deals with track owners, and multiple channels carried racing action.

On a cold February day in 1979, when most of the Northeast was snowed in by a blizzard, NASCAR entered the American consciousness with a dramatic telecast of the Daytona 500. It was the first 500-mile race to be broadcast live on national television and featured the heroes and legends of the sport racing on a hallowed track. With one of the wildest finishes in sports history--a finish that was just the start of the drama--everything changed for what is now America's second most popular sport. HE CRASHED ME SO I CRASHED HIM BACK is the story of an emerging sport trying to find its feet. It's the story of how Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison, Cale Yarborough, Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Darrell Waltrip, A.J. Foyt, and Kyle Petty came together in an unforgettable season that featured the first nationally televised NASCAR races. There were rivalries--even the sibling kind--and plenty of fistfights, feuds, and frenzied finishes. Rollicking and full of larger-than-life characters, HE CRASHED ME SO I CRASHED HIM BACK is the remarkable tale of the birth of modern stock-car racing.
