Yes, Greeks lived in what is now modern-day Turkey for thousands of years before 1923. The region was home to a significant Greek population, particularly in areas like Istanbul, Anatolia, and the Aegean coast. However, following the Greco-Turkish War and the subsequent population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1923, the Greek population in Turkey significantly decreased. Today, there are still some Greeks living in Turkey, particularly in Istanbul and the islands near the Turkish coast. **

Yes, today's Greeks are considered to be descendants of the ancient Greeks. The modern Greek population has a strong genetic and cultural connection to their ancient ancestors, with many Greeks able to trace their lineage back to ancient times. Additionally, the Greek language, traditions, and customs have been passed down through generations, further solidifying the link between modern and ancient Greeks. **

It is not accurate or fair to make sweeping generalizations about an entire group of people based on their nationality. Sexual orientation is a personal and individual aspect of a person's identity and cannot be determined by their nationality. Just like any other group of people, there are individuals within the Greek population who identify as gay, as well as individuals who identify as heterosexual, bisexual, or other sexual orientations. **

No, Greeks are not Semitic. The Greek people are of Indo-European descent, with their language and culture being part of the broader Indo-European family. Semitic peoples, on the other hand, are those who speak languages belonging to the Semitic language family, such as Arabic, Hebrew, and Aramaic. The ancient Greeks and Semitic peoples had interactions and influences on each other, but they are distinct ethnic and linguistic groups. **

It is not appropriate to compare or choose between Greeks and Turks as both are distinct ethnic groups with their own unique cultures, histories, and identities. Both Greeks and Turks have made significant contributions to the world in various fields such as art, literature, science, and cuisine. It is important to respect and appreciate the diversity and richness of both cultures without engaging in divisive comparisons. **

Greeks are often perceived as reserved due to their cultural emphasis on politeness, formality, and respect for personal space. They may initially appear reserved when interacting with strangers or in formal settings as a way to show respect and maintain a sense of decorum. Additionally, Greeks value privacy and may be cautious about sharing personal information or emotions with those they do not know well. This reserved demeanor is not necessarily a reflection of unfriendliness, but rather a cultural norm that prioritizes respect and boundaries in social interactions. **

As an AI, I do not have personal feelings or preferences. Greeks, like any other group of people, are diverse and unique individuals with their own characteristics and qualities. It is important to treat everyone with respect and judge them based on their actions and behavior rather than their nationality or ethnicity. **
